Other Professional Experience
Water Safety Instructor/Adult Learn-to-Swim Instructor/Private Pool Instructor, Fall 2018-Present. Duties: teach private and group swim lessons to all ages and abilities. Due to my previous experience teaching Special Olympics adaptive aquatics at BYU, I also teach special needs children, specializing in autistic children. I incorporate basic sign language during instruction to aid special needs children in better comprehension of instruction.
In-Home Aid & Care Provider, Dec 2019-Present. Duties: Assist a special needs family with routine schedule of children. Aid in home organization and other activities pertinent to providing a calm and sustaining atmosphere for a special needs child to continue to thrive.
In-Home Aid & Care Provider, 2013-Fall 2019. Duties: Assist a local family in the care and services needed to provide for an autistic child. Daily routine care and social opportunities were provided. I would take their son to every option possible for social skill education, including museums, swimming, races, paddle boarding, restaurants, parks, etc. I firmly believe in giving him every chance to experience all that he can.
Geological History Research Consultant, November 2001-present. Currently do phone and email research advisory consultations only. Duties: Conduct historical research regarding natural disaster events and other geological phenomenon to understand impact both physical and cultural regarding the issue. Perform preliminary analysis of data and work in conjunction with geological assessment.
· Serve as a historical researcher in conjunction with Utah State University Geology Department, in connection with grant to assess
Crystal Geyser, Green River, Utah. Duties include locating historical data on the geyser and individual who created it. Dealt with
several state and local agencies, along with private citizens.
· Participate in joint research effort conducted on the 1857 Fort Tejon, California earthquake spanning a majority of the San Andres
Fault. Responsibilities included locating primarily felt reports, secondary publications and preliminary analysis of data.
· Additional research on natural disaster history topics including Mount St. Helens, Washington; Upper Virgin River Basin, Utah;
1884 Bear Lake Utah Earthquake.
